Tasty Food to add to your Meal Plan
Oatmeal, Raspberries and Banana Boats
Choosing easy and tasty food can be really difficult. You have to consider what you like, what you have the budget for, and what you have time to make. So here is one meal, and one snack that you can add, super cheap and super quickly to any meal plan.
Cook 2 servings of No Name brand's large flaky oats to package directions ensuring to adjust water ratio. Place your cooked oatmeal into a bowl and add spices such as a pinch of salt, and ¼ tsp of cinnamon if desired. Rinse 1 pint of raspberries and add to a plate. Add some to your oatmeal either whole or crushed if you wish, this will add some sweetness to the dish. Pour yourself an 8oz glass of 2% milk and enjoy. You can switch the fruit up or add some Chia seeds to increase fibre, as in the photo but it will change the end calorie results.
Snack: Peanut
Butter and Banana (200 kcal)
Peel one medium banana and spread 1 tbsp of salted peanut butter across the curved surface to create a little banana boat. Alternatively you can cut your banana into chunks and spread a total of 1 tbsp of salted peanut butter across each little log. Super easy and filling snack. You can change this recipe up as well, you could use almond, cashew or soy butter and you could use apple, pear or even celery slices. Jazz it up with some spices even, like a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. You can customize this quick little snack to your needs, but as before changing the ingredients can change the calories.
These little recipes aren't super expensive. They don't take a lot of skill to make, and they can be customized to your taste or needs. I hope you give them a shot in your next meal plan.
Little steps, build up to big changes! You've got this ❤
